Protection Grid for Sacred Space

 I wrote this ceremony for my coven sister, who has been kind enough to host our New Moon ceremonies. It is important that we protect our space and homes before we perform magic, especially when working with a group.

Protection Grid for Sacred Space

Using selenite and black tourmaline


  • Cast circle ~Walk the entire perimeter of your yard as best you can. 
  • Ground 
  • Call in the Quarters

Starting in the East take your selenite and place or bury it so that it is pointing the  direction you are facing and calling upon. As you place it on the ground say a little prayer. Something like this…
“Blessed Spirits of this land, I place this selenite and clear and release all negativity that resides here.  Protect this land of any and all that would do harm to any of us of any kind. I claim protection for myself, my family, and animals in the name of the Goddess. Allow this earth to be a sacred space where we can make magic with the help of the Goddess, spirits, and healing energies, and cast out all that are unhelpful to us and our magic.
Thank you, Goddess, for all you provide us with each and every day. We are grateful for all you bestow.”
When you have placed a piece of selenite pointing in each direction, 
go to your outside altar or the center of your yard (as best you can) and draw this protective rune on the ground or in the air.


  • Go to each corner of the yard and place a piece of black tourmaline and pray,
“Magic within and protection surrounds. This sacred space, land, and house are protected always by the Goddess.”
  • When the tourmaline are placed or buried, go back to the center of the yard or altar, where you drew the rune. Imagine a grid of protection moving from each crystal in a circle.  Place or bury another piece of  black tourmaline here  and thank the Goddess for it is done.
  • Dismiss the Quarters.
  • Dissolve the circle.

Pruning the Sacred Garden… When we bought our home, I became the care taker of 5 big mature rose bushes. When they bloom, they are pink, yellow, red, and coral in color. Their blooms are big gorgeous flowers with a magical fragrance. They are a blessing to my home, neighbors, bees, and birds. Protecting Your Vibe and Space Throughout our day, we are bombarded with energies. We encounter energy everywhere we go, with every interaction, and person that we meet. We pick up the energy as we scroll on our phones, and with each message we receive. This wears on our serenity and spiritual fitness. Spiritual fitness is important so that we can receive energy channel it, and decide how to respond (not react) appropriately. One of the first types of protection is protecting the energetic body. One of my favorite ways of protecting my aura or energetic body, is through a simple bubble meditation. I do this to start my day,  before giving someone Reiki healing, or when I know that I'll be interacting with a person who may be considered an energy vampire. Connecting to the Goddess

Goddess Luna~ acrylic painting 2017 I was blessed to have been called by the Goddess at the age of 15 years old. In the beginning She seemed a distant, and intangible being, and I only felt close to her when I was out in nature. When I was 25, I dove into my spirituality with an enthusiasm I never had before. I was in search of a Higher Power. A power greater than my addiction, a power to help me recover. My life depended on it. I remember my mentor saying it didn't matter what Higher Power I chose, but I should have a relationship with it and I should have a name for it.
